Photographers, explorers, naturalists and authors, Martin and Osa Johnson journeyed opposite East and Central Africa, a South Pacific Islands and British North Borneo study wildlife and documenting their trips between 1917 and 1936.  When they returned home they had over 3,000 photos and 150,000 feet of film.
