A pro surfer triumphantly rides a 20ft tube call in Hawaii – seconds before it slams him underwater, knocking him unconscious.

Evan Geiselman, 22, was pinned underwater by a breakers that followed, swallowing good gulps of salt H2O – and could have died were it not for a thespian rescue by a bodyboarding champion.

Geiselman, who was purple-faced and hardly breathing, was plucked from a roller by Andre Botha, 35, a world-beating bodyboarder who was also holding on a waves during North Shore in Oahu, Hawaii.

Botha was filmed from a shoreline paddling behind to reserve on Sunday, perplexing to keep a passed-out Geiselman’s conduct above water.

Lifeguard captain Vitor Marcal said: ‘All a approaching waves crashing on him, he was means to only reason on to that surfer’s physique and assistance until we got there and got to him. It was amazing’. 

Matt Castiglione, a photographer who filmed a rescue, said Geiselman brought adult ‘buckets and buckets’ of H2O when rescuers attempted to revitalise him. He said: ‘Evan was still really blue, comatose and foaming during a mouth.’

Geiselman was taken to sanatorium in vicious condition though had been expelled by Tuesday.
