Stunning images exploring a life and work of a cattlemen in a Northern Territory of Australia have been gathered into a pleasing book.

Photographer Håkan Ludwigson spent 3 months among the men – who are firm to saddles twelve hours a day, mustering herds of cattle and branding and castrating immature bulls – to sketch them in their day-to-day environment.

After his time with a cattlemen, who live in a land lonesome in red dust, Ludwigson returned to his local Sweden with a images that in time became a book Balls And Bulldust – published by Steidl.

From cowboys roving steel barrels to aged cattlemen holding boomerangs, a photographer, from the tiny city of Vanersborg, prisoner it all.

The book, however, is not another cowboy story – it covers a lives of group and women operative greatly tough while seeking some kind of waste in a midst of some of a country’s harshest conditions.

Shot in a 1980s and primarily unappreciated, Ludwigson’s images exhibit a heartless beauty of a Australian Northern Territory.
